Strides: Lions Walk

Strides: Lions Walk for Diabetes Awareness was held today for the first time in the Treasure Valley (last year the Lions held the walk in Sun Valley). The 3K walk along the green belt in Eagle started at a chilly 9:00 am with about 35 Lions, Leos, and community members briskly walking or jogging along the river.  Lions District 39W was the sponsor and proceeds benefited Camp HodiaWalk with Walgreens and the Eagle Walgreens provided literature and pedometers, Treasure Valley Hearing and Balance brought goodie bags, Idaho Independent Bank, Star Branch, provided snacks.

The Strides Walk takes place in hundreds of cities around the world to raise awareness of diabetes prevention and the healthful benefits of walking. Hopefully this walk will grow in the Treasure Valley (and expand to the Magic Valley) in the coming years.  Robin Jara and her committee did a great job organizing the event.

  1. Hey, very nice site. I came across this on Google, and I am stoked that I did. I will definitely be coming back here more often. Wish I could add to the conversation and bring a bit more to the table, but am just taking in as much info as I can at the moment. Thanks for sharing.
